Brock Lesnar’s status with WWE is a bit complicated at the moment, to say the least.
All signs pointed to him wrapping up his current run with the company at SummerSlam where he dropped the Universal Championship to Roman Reigns before focusing on a UFC return. However, his absence from WWE programming didn’t last long at all, as he resurfaced at Hell in a Cell to spoil the Reigns vs. Braun Strowman main event.
It has already been confirmed that The Beast Incarnate will get his rightful rematch for the Universal title at Crown Jewel, though it doesn’t look like he will show up on WWE TV any time before then. That said, officials should at least make an attempt to have him return for SmackDown 1000 in two weeks.
Lesnar’s SmackDown stint that ran from 2002 to 2004, albeit brief, featured many great matches and moments, including breaking the ring while facing Big Show and feuding with The Undertaker and Kurt Angle. He hasn’t made any appearances on the program since 2016, but an unannounced comeback at SmackDown 1000 would be fun.
