Kurt Angle

Similar to Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle is technically assigned to the Raw brand in storyline, but his history on SmackDown is so decorated that WWE would be remiss to not feature him on the upcoming 1,000th episode.

Angle was a staple on SmackDown dating back to the original Brand Split in 2002 and helped elevate the young careers of Edge, Rey Mysterio and Brock Lesnar. He held the show’s top title multiple times and even reigned as SmackDown’s general manager for a brief period in the spring of 2004.

His move to Raw in 2005 felt unnatural, and sure enough, he was never the same main event player on Monday nights that he was on SmackDown. He was able to finish out his run on the blue brand in 2006 and even walked into WrestleMania 22 as World Heavyweight champion.

Unfortunately, Angle has been M.I.A. since being placed on a permanent vacation in August with an eventual in-ring return being rumored for him. No matter what his future holds inside the squared circle, him crashing SmackDown 1000 would surely make for an exciting moment.
