4. Ruby Riott Proves She Has Main Event Potential Despite Loss

Ronda Rousey has been the talk of the women’s division on Monday nights over the past several months. The Baddest Woman On The Planet has climbed the ladder of success all the way to the Raw Women’s Championship, but last night saw her get a major test in one-on-one action.

Rousey is set to team up with The Bella Twins at Super Show-Down to battle The Riott Squad, but last night was about singles action when Rousey took on Riott Squad leader Ruby Riott. This is a match that many feels could have taken place at a pay-per-view eventually, but seeing it last night on free TV was a treat. To top it all off, the match would turn out very well.

This was probably Riott’s defining performance on the red brand so far and she more than held her own against the standard bearer among the Raw women’s division. Riott got in a lot of offense and grounded Rousey plenty during the match, which was impressive selling on Rousey’s part. However, the Raw Women’s Champion was able to turn things around in the end.

Everything changed when Rousey got back in it and after an armbar, Riott tapped out immediately and Rousey got the win. This was a very stellar match for both women, but for Riott, this proves she is more than capable of being in a main event picture with someone the likes of The Baddest Woman On The Planet. Hopefully, these two will square off again in the future.

Riott vs. Rousey is a match that could be a major feud on Monday nights, and last night helped prove that point.
