WWE Raw Results: The Bella Twins Turn on Ronda Rousey
By Bryan Heaton
WWE Raw took place in Chicago this week. What happened in the wake of Super Show-Down?
For the first time in a long time (or at least it seems), WWE Raw was packed with action — at least during the first hour or so. A much anticipated reunion opened the show, with a probable double turn immediately following that. And that didn’t even get to any of Raw’s champions, either!
The rest of the episode wasn’t too bad, either — although I’ve admittedly been out of the WWE loop lately with some shoot real-life stuff going on (no kayfabe here). Honestly, the amount of WWE/pro wrestling I’ve been able to watch in October before tonight has been limited to “turn on the final segment of last week’s Raw and fall asleep immediately,” so anything seems interesting to me right now.
Here are your results from the Oct. 8 episode of WWE Raw:
- Triple H and Shawn Michaels made their way down to the ring, and they were not in a good mood at all. A long monologue about respect is followed up with Michaels revealing he no longer respects the Undertaker, so there’s no reason to stay retired. He and Triple H challenged Taker and Kane to a match at Crown Jewel, reforming D-Generation X in the process.
- Bobby Lashley took on Kevin Owens, with Lio Rush providing commentary at ringside to the entire arena. It was, well, it was something. The Chicago crowd was decidedly against Rush, and by extension Lashley, while cheering Owens like he was Michael Jordan. In the end, Lashley took the victory after KO tweaked his knee. After the match, it appeared we got a double turn, as Lashley ran back in to attack Owens and his injured knee to a chorus of boos.
- But wait — there’s more Lashley! He and Rush interrupt Bayley and Finn Bálor backstage during their interview time, which leads me to believe Bálor may actually have a program in the near future, and probably solidifies Lashley’s heel turn.
- Elias sang about John Cena, Cena’s hair, and the entire experience in Australia before turning his attention to Chicago. He’s interrupted by… Ronda Rousey? Really? And nothing happened? Okay, then.
Rousey teamed with The Bella Twins to face The Riott Squad in a Super Show-Down rematch. BRING ON THE ANXIETY as Brie Bella went for the YES Kicks on Liv Morgan and the pair brawled early on. There may have also been
. When all was said and done, Rousey picked up the victory for her team with an armbar submission on Ruby Riott. Because the theme of tonight’s
WWE Raw
is “post-match attacks,” Nikki attacks Rousey from behind, and the Bellas put a beating on the Raw Women’s Champion to — I assume — set up the Evolution main event.

Ember Moon defeated Nia Jax via countout, after she threw Jax into the LED board on the ring apron and barely beat the referee’s ten count. Apparently, Ember and Nia are still friends — for the moment, at least.
- Trish Stratus returned to WWE Raw, and was almost immediately interrupted by Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. Bliss and James challenged Trish to a fight, but not now — at Evolution, they were challenging Trish to a tag team match. Trish accepted, even though she’d need a partner — and that brought out Lita, who was originally scheduled to face James at the show. Trish and Lita gained the upper hand, but Bliss and James bailed before too much damage could be inflicted.
- Chad Gable and Bobby Roode continued their feud with The Ascension in a tag match. After both Gable and Roode lost singles matches to Konner over the past few weeks, Gable and Roode picked up a victory here, despite not really being on the same page. After the match, AoP laid waste to both teams.
- Paul Heyman made a surprise appearance in Chi-Town to kill time, because three hours of WWE Raw is impossible to book. I mean, yeah, Heyman hyped Lesnar and Crown Jewel and stuff, but let’s be real: He was a time-filler tonight.
- In the main event, The Shield once again squared up against Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler, and Drew McIntyre. It was your typical Shield six-man tag, with Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose doing their thing like a bunch of madmen. The finish was predictably chaotic, but McIntyre managed to catch Ambrose with a Claymore Kick for the victory. As the show went off the air, Ambrose walked to the back alone, leaving Reigns and Rollins confused in the middle of the ring.
