WWE Evolution 2018: 3 Reasons Why Becky Lynch Should Win
Opens Up Future Feuds For Becky
Last year at Survivor Series, WWE presented several champion vs. champion matches, with matches like The Bar vs. The Usos, AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar, and The New Day vs. The Shield absolutely blowing the audience away. The women’s champion vs. champion match between Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair was quite good and stands as one of the best matches of Bliss’s early career.
A champion vs. champion match between SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey would be sensational, and it could be a show-stealer. We’ve seen Rousey shine brightly in the ring at Pay Per Views like WrestleMania and Money in the Bank this year (the less said about her offensive promo and boring title reign, the better), but Becky would be by far her most compelling opponent yet.
It’s possible Becky vs. Ronda could take place at WrestleMania next year, but Charlotte vs. Rousey has always seemed much more likely than Ronda vs. anyone else. Because of this, it wouldn’t make much sense for Charlotte and Rousey to have a champion vs. champion match at Survivor Series, and there’s just about no way Rousey takes a loss before ‘Mania 35.
A Survivor Series battle between Becky and Rousey would be awesome, and while it isn’t locked in for this to be a match at Survivor Series (it’s not even clear if there will be champion vs. champion matches for a second straight year), the possibility would be open if Lynch retains the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WWE Evolution 2018.
Furthermore, Becky could have several interesting title feuds with the likes of Asuka or Naomi. Due to the “tweener” nature of her character, Becky could defend the championship against heels or babyfaces, and her title matches would have a dynamic that WWE hasn’t seen in its Women’s Divisions before (or, at least, not for a long time).
