205 Live Fatal Five-Way

Every week, 205 Live’s main events are a must-watch, and this show has become a staple for fans of straight-up wrestling. This week’s Fatal Five-Way was perhaps 205’s most action-packed match of the year, and that’s what happens when Tony Nese, Cedric Alexander, Lio Rush, TJP, and Gran Metalik meet in the ring.

These are five of the most athletic wrestlers in WWE, and they regularly put together matches filled with seamless acrobatics and nail-biting near-falls. Rush and Nese were particularly excellent in this match, with Nese picking up the victory after rolling up Alexander.

This marks the second straight week in which he’s pinned the former Cruiserweight Champion, making it seem like Nese and Buddy Murphy control the fate of Murphy’s first singles title.

The match itself is must-see, and it stands with the best of 205 Live’s non-title main events. Perhaps Buddy Murphy and Mustafa Ali’s insane, desperate back-and-forth battles are the only better 205 matches than this, but I am privy to falling into recency bias as far as this brand is concerned.

It just seems like they set a new bar every month, and this match was yet another example of the talent 205 Live has. These men bring it every single week, and from a pure in-ring standpoint, this is the best brand in WWE. If you watch this match, you’ll see why it’s getting such effusive praise.

I’d like to give a final bit of praise to Lio Rush, who is not only fantastically grating as Bobby Lashley’s mouthpiece on Monday nights, but he also has the highest ceiling of any heel on the 205 roster. From an in-ring standpoint, he might even be more exciting to watch than Ali, Murphy, Alexander, Metalik, and TJP.
