Nothing to help lift your spirits like the old Degeneration X theme song. Shawn Michaels and Triple H are here live.
They say there are a lot of big words being thrown around during this feud, and most of them are five-letters or less.
They discuss an important and divisive theme in professional wrestling, and that’s nostalgia. Whether you personally think so or not, DX says that people pay for their nostalgia, and like a fine wine, they’re getting better with age.
There is a particular spooky-spooky promo that cuts off the DX tagline, and Kane and Undertaker are standing tall and creepy to assure that they’ll be victorious at Crown Jewel.
Anyone else a little disappointed they didn’t appear in Michael Meyers and Jason Vorhees costumes? No? Just Me?
This promo was actually well written; usually when WWE tries to carry out a particularly verbose promo, they trip up a bit, but this one was pretty spotless.
It is announced that the now-vacant Universal Championship will be decided at Crown Jewel in a match against the remaining two participants of the scheduled triple-threat, Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman. I can’t say this is ever how I wanted to see Braun Strowman likely win the Universal Championship. At all.
