WWE Royal Rumble 2019: 5 Early Candidates To Win Women’s Rumble
Becky Lynch
The current SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch might be the least likely wrestler on this list of five to win at WWE Royal Rumble 2019, but there are rumblings that she – and not Charlotte – could be the one to face Rousey at WrestleMania 35.
While I’d have to see it to believe it, the fact of the matter is that Becky has been the best performer in the WWE Women’s Division in 2018, and it might not even be close. The way she’s took the ball as champion has been astounding, and her ability to command the arena is second to none at this moment in time. She has the crowd in the palm of her hands, and they will cheer her vociferously no matter what she says or who she insults, even if it’s a beloved legend like Edge.
Becky was a sleeper candidate to win the Women’s Rumble in 2018, because fans knew that a story involving Lynch and Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship would be irresistibly excellent. We’ve seen just how great these two are together since their feud began at SummerSlam when Becky turned after Charlotte stood in her way.
It will be interesting to see how long Becky remains SmackDown Women’s Champion, and the hope is that she’ll hold onto the title for longer, meaning that she’ll “upset” Charlotte in the main roster’s first ever Last Woman Standing match at Evolution.
But if Lynch drops the title before the Rumble, she’s a candidate to win the second Women’s Rumble and fight for the title at WrestleMania due to her insane popularity. She’s grown into a true star in WWE, and she could have a stellar ‘Mania program with anyone on this roster, including Rousey.
