Tommaso Ciampa (c) vs. The Velveteen Dream- NXT Championship Match

The Dream is a star. I touched on this a couple of weeks ago, but the man has almost all of the tools needed to become a main event player in NXT and possibly on the main roster — so long as Vince doesn’t ruin him.

Based on how the most recent weeks of television have played out, it looks like the Dream is next in line to challenge

Satan

Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship. In terms of where both men are right now momentum-wise, this is the best-case scenario for the Dream and Ciampa.

A one-on-one title match between Dream and Ciampa would allow the company to see if Dream can hold his own in a headlining situation against a worker who doesn’t have the flashy moveset that some of the Dream’s previous opponents possessed. For Ciampa, he gets a chance to show that he can garner nuclear heat in a program that doesn’t involve Johnny Gargano — he’s already starting to get those ironic cheers from the NXT faithful.

With the WarGames match likely to close the show, these two won’t have as much pressure on them to deliver a show-stealing match. But these two are more than talented enough to hold the NXT fans’ attention in a high-stakes title match. There’s a chance that this match becomes a multiperson affair, but hopefully, these two get a chance to tell a good story in Los Angeles.
