4. Jeff Hardy vs. Andrade Cien Almas

Jeff Hardy hasn’t had a lot of direction in recent weeks since his feud with Randy Orton ended inside Hell in a Cell.  However, last night gave The Charismatic Enigma a chance to find a purpose when he had an enticing one-on-one matchup against a rising star on the blue brand.

Hardy went one-on-one with Andrade Cien Almas in a match that would end up having big Survivor Series implications.  With Daniel Bryan off of the SmackDown men’s Survivor Series team, that opened up a spot that Hardy or Almas could jump in and take.  Both men wanted to make a statement, but only one could get the win.

The match felt a bit rushed and it really could have gotten much more time, but for the time it was given, it was a pretty good match even if it wasn’t as good as it could have been.  Almas had his moments like he always does, but The Charismatic Enigma made the final moment when he hit Cien with a Swanton Bomb to get the win.

This was a key win for Hardy and with The Miz now as sole team captain at Survivor Series, he chose Hardy to be Bryan’s replacement.  Hardy hasn’t won a match in a while, so seeing him win last night was a pleasant sight.  Not to mention, he brings a lot to the SmackDown Survivor Series team.

The future is bright for Almas, but Hardy wasn’t focused on the future last night, he was focused on the now and he is now a member of Team SmackDown.

Final Grade: B
