9. Fall of Man (The Ascension)

As NXT superstars, Connor O’Brien and Rick Victor terrorized the landscape for over a year as The Ascension. Eventually renaming themselves Konnor and Viktor, the duo were the most feared tag team in Full Sail University. They reigned as NXT Tag Team Champions for just short of a calendar year before being called up to the big time in December 2014.

For roughly the four years since debuting on Raw, The Ascension have been nothing but a shell of their former selves. Any success they’ve had has been seen by only a few eyes, due to it happening on Main Event. Only recently have Konnor and Viktor been featured as regular players on the Raw roster, as they’ve feuded with Chad Gable and Bobby Roode.

But one thing that has remained constant since the formation of The Ascension in NXT is their finishing maneuver — Fall of Man. By themselves, a leg sweep and a jumping uppercut aren’t exactly fear-inducing, though I still wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of either. Put them together, though, and you have a move that can put down any tag team in front of Konnor and Viktor.

It’s a move reminiscent of the Eliminators in ECW. Perry Saturn and John Kronus innovated the “you hit ’em high, I’ll hit ’em low” style of attack with Total Elimination, a leg sweep combined with a spinning heel kick. But the running variant with an uppercut by Konnor and Viktor just seems to be it’s own maneuver, despite the similar background.
