6. Chasing the Dragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)

Full disclosure: I’m not 100% sure if the NXT commentary team actually still calls this maneuver “Chasing the Dragon,” especially with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly being a part of The Undisputed Era and no longer named reDRagon (not to mention the origin of the phrase). But out of all the permutations of TUE and all the tandem moves they perform, this is still, for my money, the crème de la crème.

What makes this particular move more interesting to me than any of the others is the combination of a well-placed strike with a more traditional wrestling maneuver. While other moves on this list — and other tandem moves by TUE — are generally either two “strikes” (if we count a leg sweep as a strike) or a pair of high-impact moves.

But Chasing the Dragon is a kick to the head mid-brainbuster. If that’s not innovative, I don’t know what is. And it’s pretty apropos of the name, too — if you get kicked in the head in the middle of a brainbuster, you’re not waking up any time soon to catch what you’re chasing.

With The Undisputed Era being among the top stars of NXT, and some combination of O’Reilly, Fish, and Roderick Strong holding the NXT Tag Team Championships for much of the past year, there’s bound to be more to come from the group.
