Rose and Deville are Poised for a Big Push

One thing I’ve been really enjoying lately about SmackDown Live has been the slow rise of Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville. While Peyton Royce and Billie Kay of The IIconics have been serving the static role of boosting the careers of SmackDown’s biggest babyfaces, Rose and Deville have emerged as the next strand of challengers in the SmackDown Women’s Championship picture. The former Absolution members have been getting more and more face time and are really starting to grow as on-screen personalities.

Mandy Rose has improved rapidly with her in-ring ability. She also usually has the microphone in her hand in just about any scenario, which speaks volumes to WWE’s confidence in her ability to carry a promo.

Sonya Deville seems to be taking some of SmackDown’s biggest stars to the limit lately, which indicates WWE believes Deville could be a true workhorse.

There has been a lot of turmoil between the two in recent weeks and it looks like WWE may be planning to split them up, but could that angle just be a bit of juice to keep them busy? It would seem so, since they pulled out a major upset victory this week over Asuka and Charlotte Flair.

With Sonya Deville getting the pinfall on Flair this week and nearly defeating Asuka in the battle royal last week, she has now taken both of Becky Lynch’s TLC challengers to their limit and I smell a major push into title contention coming. Maybe the winner of the first women’s TLC match better put her hair up and square up.
