WWE SmackDown: 5 Possible US Title Opponents For Rusev

For as much as we think WWE likes Lars Sullivan, EC3 is the forthcoming NXT call-up with the most potential. He’s already started pinpointing John Cena as a future feud, and it’s safe to say that EC3 has the mic skills to keep up with the GOAT. It’s high praise, but EC3 has already earned it, and he truly does understand all the fine details that go into building an engaging wrestling persona.

It’s unclear when EC3 will be making his way to the main roster or which brand he’ll debut on, but a rivalry with Rusev would be wonderful. These two men are incredible talkers, and I’m sure their comedic timing would lead to some memorable promos and skits spoofing each other. Both superstars are great at not taking themselves too seriously, even though they’re both impressive athletes inside the squared circle.

A quick title win for EC3 is certainly believable, but he’s the type of superstar who probably sees the United States Championship as a stepping stone to bigger things. Then again, EC3 was a standout in the North American Championship ladder match at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans about eight or nine months ago, so any opportunity to elevate a championship is one that the fast-talking nephew of Dixie Carter will grab by the horns.
