4. Who is next in line to challenge for the IC title?
Being the workhorse title on WWE Raw, the Intercontinental Championship has been carrying the brand in the absence of Universal title. Seth Rollins’ open challenges were a staple of Monday night Raw.
Now that the ‘Moral Compass’ of the WWE, Dean Ambrose, has taken over the title from ‘The Architect’, what will happen going forward?
This week, there was a ‘fresh start battle royal’ to determine a new challenger for the IC title. Apollo Crews would win the match and later challenge Ambrose for the title.
Despite all his athleticism and wrestling ability, the match was lackluster. Blame has to go to Ambrose too, who is still figuring out his in-ring style after his heel turn and physical transformation.
Anyhow, now that Ambrose has successfully defended his title against Crews, who would he face next? Finn Balor? Dolph Ziggler? How about Curt Hawkins or Zack Ryder, who finally made a return to television? Will Ambrose continue the IC title open challenge or will there be more battle royals or tournament styles matches to determine new challengers?
