All Elite Wrestling: 5 Potential Additions To The New Promotion
Austin Theory
There are some men and women that have the “look” to be a star in professional wrestling. Austin Theory is such an individual. At 6’1, 220 pounds he has the looks of an action-movie star – which is exactly what many of the major promotions in professional wrestling look for in their athletes. And instead of resting on those dashing good looks; Theory has continued to evolve into a better wrestler that is slowly positioning himself as a main event feature on the independent circuit.
Theory is less than three years into his professional career and has already caught the attention of the WWE. He participated in a tryout match with the WWE in 2018, which shows that their eyes are closely following his development. He’s a one-time WWN champion, but his defeat of WWE talent, Fabian Aichner in October gave him his most important title reign yet: The EVOLVE Championship. This is the same title that names such as Matt Riddle, Drew Galloway (McIntyre) and Zack Sabre Jr have held in the past. Those are some big names to be linked to in such a way.
Theory would greatly benefit from joining the AEW crew; where he would be under the watchful eye of some of the best names in the industry today. The only concern is how long he would be able to stay with the brand and WWE is sure to come calling to keep him out of any main competition at the time. Theory has the potential to be a main event star in the future. While he may not be ready to step into the WWE; joining AEW could give him the seasoning to develop into that star and become an even bigger name on the independent circuit.
