1. Seth Rollins Failing To Recapture Intercontinental Championship Paves Wave For Potential Universal Championship Push

The issues between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have been going on for several years now sporadically.  However, over the past few months, the issues have reached a fevered pitch with Ambrose turning his back on Rollins and The Shield in the wake of Roman Reigns walking away to battle Leukemia.

‘The Architect’ has been out to make Ambrose pay ever since then, but ‘The Lunatic Fringe’ has managed to stay one step ahead of Rollins, and it led to Ambrose capturing the Intercontinental Championship at TLC.

Rollins’ emotions got the better of him, as they did to a degree last night when WWE Raw opened up with Rollins and Bobby Lashley brawling.  Issues have risen between those two lately as well, but it didn’t distract Rollins from what he really wants.

Rollins approached Triple H backstage about wanting an Intercontinental Championship rematch with Ambrose immediately, and Triple H obliged and made it a Falls Count Anywhere match.

As expected, Rollins and Ambrose put forth a standout battle that went backstage, through the crowd, and one that featured an abundance of weapons.  The finish was where everything changed for ‘The Architect.’

It appeared like Rollins was about to win back the Intercontinental Championship after hitting Ambrose with a stomp, but Lashley came out and attacked Rollins, ultimately leading to Ambrose retaining his title.

The Rollins and Lashley issues are far from done, but this decision might be a blessing in disguise.  With Rollins apparently out of the Intercontinental Championship picture now, this opens the door for a potential Universal Championship run in the near future.
