The Lucha Bros vs. The Young Bucks
Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr., the current Impact Tag Team Champions, shook hands with Nick and Matt Jackson at a recent show, fueling rumors that the Lucha Bros would join AEW in some capacity. Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin clarified that Pentagon and Fenix didn’t sign exclusive contracts with All Elite Wrestling.
At the Double or Nothing “rally”, the Lucha Bros showed up to confront the Bucks, who gave a heartfelt speech about how AEW would focus on tag team wrestling. WWE hasn’t done much to care for tag team wrestling, particularly on Raw, and while they’ve taken steps to change that amidst reports of The Revival being upset, AEW has a prime opportunity to “corner” the market for tag teams.
Not only did they announce Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor, the Best Friends, but AEW treated its fans to an awesome showdown between The Lucha Bros and The Young Bucks. Pentagon Jr. even hit a Pentagon Driver on the stage to seal the deal!
These two highly-regarded tag teams will have a match at Double or Nothing, and there’s a real chance it ends up main eventing the show, especially after the Bucks teased a tag match main eventing AEW’s first show. That would certainly send a strong statement, and there’s little doubt that these two teams would be deserving of the main.
