There’s still nearly two months until WWE WrestleMania 35, but the universally most anticipated match on the card and the match that will likely main event the show is Becky Lynch’s quest to dethrone Ronda Rousey as Raw Women’s Champion.

WWE WrestleMania 35 will offer up, in all likelihood, the most anticipated women’s wrestling match in WWE history when Becky Lynch battles Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship.  Or at least that’s what fans thought they were going to see.

The situation between Lynch and Rousey has been going on since November when they were scheduled to face each other at Survivor Series until a last-minute injury to The Man ruined that plan.  But one other superstar has been deeply involved in this angle as well, that being Charlotte Flair.

With Lynch injured and unable to compete at Survivor Series, Charlotte took her place against Rousey and the two put forth a very good match before Charlotte snapped and attacked Rousey with a kendo stick.  The issues between the three carried over into December’s TLC pay-per-view in which Rousey cost both Lynch and Flair in their SmackDown Women’s Championship Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match before Asuka eventually won.

We knew that this angle was far from over, and once The Man won the women’s Royal Rumble match last month, she made it clear that she will choose The Baddest Woman On The Planet and her Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35.  But through a few different storyline developments, Lynch is kayfabe suspended for 60 days and The Queen is scheduled to replace her against Rousey at WrestleMania.

Of course, Lynch isn’t actually out of the match in reality.  However, many fans are upset with Charlotte being included in this match.  Many believe it takes away from Lynch’s moment and Charlotte gets undeserving opportunities.  However, if you actually think about it from outside of a Becky Lynch mark lens, this makes all the sense in the world for everyone involved.

More from WrestleMania

It’s all but certainly going to be a Triple Threat Match between the three at WrestleMania 35, which will culminate a tremendous story the likes of which women’s wrestling has probably never seen before in the WWE.  Just think about it, this angle has been centered around Lynch, Flair, and Rousey.  Before that, the feud between Lynch and Flair was one of historic proportions for women’s wrestling in the WWE.

It just makes sense that it all comes to a head at the granddaddy of them all.  And for those that think Charlotte being included takes away from The Man’s moment, the argument can be made that is does exactly the opposite.  Lynch’s run she has been on since August has been about finally getting her moment after working for years to get to where she’s gotten, so having to overcome two elite competitors in the same match will make it that much sweeter.

Did being in a Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania 30 diminish Daniel Bryan‘s moment of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship?  Certainly not, and it made the moment even better than if he would have just defeated Randy Orton or Batista in a one-on-one match.  The same could just as easily happen at WrestleMania 35 with Lynch.  That TLC match between Lynch, Flair, and Asuka certainly didn’t suffer from it being a Triple Threat Match either, did it?

And as far as the crowd that thinks Charlotte gets too many opportunities, it’s because she consistently knocks every single one of them out of the park.  Including one of the greatest women’s wrestlers in history in this match will only make things better for the in-ring aspect and the storyline aspect.  It would be perfect poetic storytelling justice if Lynch makes Flair tap out at WrestleMania 35 to conclude an eight-month angle between the two.

Not to mention, if Charlotte takes the pin or submission, that leaves the door wide open for that one-on-one match between Lynch and Rousey that fans want so badly, potentially at SummerSlam 2019.  The argument in favor of this match just being Lynch vs. Rousey is a valid one, but a Triple Threat Match with Charlotte included just makes more sense in a variety of different ways.  Of course, all of these arguments become null and void if The Man doesn’t win the Raw Women’s Championship.

But this feels like an almost certainty that she will leave WrestleMania 35 with the gold much like it felt heading into WrestleMania 30 with Bryan.  Besides, what can Charlotte actually do at WrestleMania if she isn’t involved in this match?  She has been involved in the angle since it began, and while she could conceivably challenge Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship in a WrestleMania 34 rematch, that match feels a bit played out at this point.

Look at this sensibly, the writing is on the wall.  The Man vs. The Baddest Woman On The Planet vs. The Queen is the best possible option to main event WrestleMania 35 and give The Man the greatest moment of her career.
