Becky Lynch Needs To Own Her Road To WrestleMania

While it is possible for Becky Lynch to head to WrestleMania despite not winning the match, perhaps due to another instance of interference from Ronda Rousey, this wouldn’t be an advisable outcome. The main event of WrestleMania is set up to be Becky’s crowning moment, despite how awesome Charlotte Flair has been at every Pay Per View over the past year-and-some change (or, really, her entire career).

Becky is the babyface everyone loves, she’s the one selling merchandise, she’s the one out-selling Axxess in seconds, and she’s the one who won the Royal Rumble after fighting her way into the match. WWE has been criticized for not booking babyfaces strongly enough, and it would seem weird for Becky to reach the main event of WrestleMania on something other than her own terms.

Fastlane represents the final hurdle in Becky’s road to WrestleMania, and it hasn’t been an easy road for her. Vince McMahon replaced her with Charlotte after a bogus 60-day suspension that stemmed from Stephanie’s faux concern over Becky’s knee injury, and then WWE called the cops on her, which led to Rousey relinquishing the title. And then Rousey got her title back, changing the Charlotte vs. Becky title match at Fastlane into a match that could result in Becky losing her WrestleMania opportunity.

Whew. Yeah. She’s been through a lot at the hands of the McMahons, but, well, such is life for a bad-ass babyface in the world of WWE.

And it makes it that much more important for Becky to own her WrestleMania destiny by winning this match against Charlotte at Fastlane.
