Cleveland Is The Perfect City For An Underdog

The Shield reunited in the “City of Brotherly Love”, so it’s only fitting for Becky Lynch, who often tells the McMahon family that her emergence was the “mistake” in their masterplan, to definitively punch her ticket to the main event of WrestleMania in a city wrongfully nicknamed “The Mistake on the Lake” by outsiders.

At the risk of sounding like a travel agent for the city I currently reside in, Cleveland is no mistake with its beautiful lake front, world-class museums, and diverse community.

More importantly, Becky’s rise is no mistake. She’s one of the most talented professional wrestlers on this planet, and she has been WWE’s biggest star since betraying Charlotte Flair (but is it a betrayal if Charlotte never REALLY had Becky’s back?) at SummerSlam last year. Becky has redefined what it means to be a top star in WWE, and despite being the face of SmackDown Live, she has immediately joined Roman Reigns as one of Raw’s top stars.

Cleveland is a city that is counted out time after time, but its residence always work their asses off to prove everyone wrong. From LeBron James’s Cleveland Cavaliers to The Miz to Baker Mayfield to Dolph Ziggler to Johnny Gargano, the city of Cleveland is filled with underdog stories.

Becky is WWE’s underdog story, but she’s taken matters into her own hands after being unfairly cast aside by the promotion for well over a year. They’ve rectified those wrongs with her recent rise, and it makes all the sense in the world for Becky to have a big win at Fastlane in a city built by the overlooked.
