WWE: Roman Reigns’s Chronicle Has Inspiring Message Of Self-Belief

The latest episode of WWE Chronicle on the WWE Network, focuses on the fateful return of Roman Reigns, months after he relinquished the Universal Championship to battle Leukemia.

As his music hits, fans across the State Farm Arena erupt in cheers and chants. Roman Reigns then pulls back the curtain to enter a sea of emotion, emotion that has been building since his last appearance in a WWE ring. With the crowd shouting in excitement, Reigns takes in every ounce of it, and announces that his fight with leukemia has ended in remission.

In the latest episode of WWE Chronicle, viewers follow along Reigns’ journey leading up to his emotional return. After not being in WWE since October 2018, in which he announced tearfully that his Leukemia returned after 11 years, fans all over the world were shocked and saddened.  Since that moment, fans have not seen Reigns enter a ring until the February 25 edition of Raw. Throughout this episode, Reigns gives insight into how he felt when giving that initial announcement, and how excited and grateful he feels to be back.

What makes this episode of WWE Chronicle moving, is Reigns description of his struggles and his honesty to admit to being vulnerable about his situation. He describes that he didn’t want anyone to feel sorry for him, and how he was hesitant to let the world know his “secret.” Despite his hesitation, he knew that by telling the fans about his illness, he would be an inspiration to many.

With Reigns looking directly at the camera at times, it makes the viewers feel that he is actually speaking to them, and in many ways, Reigns really is. It gives so much more emotion and meaning to his story, as the audience can see just how humble this journey has made him. His constant thankfulness to fans and those alike touches a chord in the hearts of the viewers, and makes his return all that much more meaningful.

The inclusion of behind the scene moments such as his heart-warming welcome from many of the other WWE talent, strikes a feeling of happiness. From Stephanie McMahon to Finn Balor, all showered Reigns with support, and those moments of endearment added to the excitement of his return.

Seeing Reigns’ working out and taking “bumps,” elicits inspiration to those who are battling with an illness they feel they can’t overcome. Including that moment in this episode of WWE Chronicle, makes those who are at a point in their life in which they feel they are defeated, actually understand that there is a way to conquer those pains. They have seen the struggles Reigns has gone through, and how he was able to bounce back from it, and become stronger. Reigns made it clear that he wants to spread a message of overcoming obstacles and being the best you can be.

Furthermore, a light was shed on the process of dealing with an illness such as Leukemia, and how there are different types of medicines that can help in the process of remission. It gives hope and awareness to those who never knew that options are there.

This episode really touched on the importance of believing in oneself, and how the toughest moments in life can be dealt with. Reigns’ story is truly inspirational, and seeing it documented helps the message that anyone can overcome adversity.
