MLW Fusion Results, Highlights, and Grades: CONTRA Unit Spike Romero
Next Week and New York City
Next week’s episode of MLW Fusion will be main evented by a World Tag Team Title Match. The Hart Foundation, in some configuration, will defend against the newly formed duo of The Dynasty, MJF and Richard Holliday.
MJF has had a bone to pick with Teddy Hart ever since Hart became the World Middleweight Champion at Never Say Never after MJF was forced to relinquish the championship due to injury.
MJF unsuccessfully challenged Hart for that title a few weeks back which led to the reemergence of Holliday as he jumped the champion backstage. Now, The Dynasty look to make their mark in the tag team division by upending The Hart Foundation coming off of their huge title win against the Lucha Bros.
The cards for April 4 and 5 in New York City are beginning to take shape for MLW.
On April 4 at Rise of the Renegades, Tom Lawlor will defend the World Heavyweight Title against the returning Jimmy Havoc. Havoc is the last man to have defeated Lawlor, and now England’s Most Dangerous Man will bring his bag of tricks to New York when the two meet for the championship in a Street Fight.
Also on tap for Rise of the Renegades will be MJF taking on Brian Pillman Jr and Sami Callihan making his MLW comeback to face Mance Warner.
The next night, Battle Riot II will air LIVE on beIN Sports. The 40-man gauntlet awards the winner with a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship at any time. Last year, Tom Lawlor came out victorious and went on to defeat Low Ki for the title. Can the same be ahead for the winner of this year’s Riot?
So far, the following names have been officially announced for Battle Riot II:
- Davey Boy Smith Jr
- Pentagon Jr
- Minoru Tanaka
- MJF
- Ace Romero
- Alex Hammerstone
- Teddy Hart
Battle Riot is always packed with surprises, but with about a month to go, we’re sure to hear more names announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
