EC3

Out of all the recent main roster call-ups from NXT, EC3 has found it the hardest to get consistent television time, through no fault of his own. For years, EC3 has been regarded as one of wrestling’s best talkers, and he truly does get all the little things, including standing in the same pose by a mirror for an uncomfortably long time, freaking out the special guest correspondents from Saturday Night Live in the process.

WWE has seemingly reduced EC3 into this weird bodybuilding stereotype, and when he finally did speak, he made a total fool out of himself when trying to “hit on” Mandy Rose. (Though, I will say, it was awesome seeing Sonya Deville verbally slice him up.)

Given the momentum he was gaining in NXT, it’s hard to believe that WWE truly has no idea what to do with EC3, who was a highly successful wrestler in Impact Wrestling, but, heck, maybe they really don’t care.

Whatever the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if WWE decided to start taking EC3 more seriously going forward, even if he doesn’t seem to figure in any plans until after WrestleMania. A brief partnership with Balor against Rush and his old friend Lashley could do wonders, because Balor is the type of guy who can generate positive buzz for anyone who shares the ring with him; that’s how much good-will Finn has with the WWE Universe.
