3. The IIconics vs. The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection

Sasha Banks and Bayley made history at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view when they helped take the women’s evolution to another level.  The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection won the inaugural WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and have since been fighting champions on every brand in the WWE.

However, an appearance on one brand eluded the champions up until last night.  The IIconics had been vocal in recent weeks about how Banks and Bayley are purposely staying away from Tuesday nights to avoid them.  That wouldn’t last for long when The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection appeared on SmackDown last night with titles in hand looking for a fight.

Banks and Bayley took on Billie Kay and Peyton Royce in non-title tag team action that could have big WrestleMania implications when it’s all said and done.  This was arguably the biggest opportunity The IIconics have had since joining the main roster, and they wouldn’t let it go to waste in the end.  The match was pretty solid throughout with both teams looking strong.

However, once Lacey Evans made her usual appearance, The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection became a bit distracted and that eventually led to a rather cheap win for The IIconics.  Despite the sketchier finish of sorts, this was still a huge win for Kay and Royce that could elevate them into the Women’s Tag Team Championship picture moving forward with WrestleMania less than three weeks away.

Last night was iconic for the women’s tag team division that just gained a new threat to the crown held by The Boss ‘N’ Hug Connection.
