The world of wrestling rumors is a fast paced minefield, with WWE, Impact, NJPW, AEW and many more promotions constantly ushering in talent signing and releases, planning matches or other spectacles and shifting their backstage building blocks. Let’s see if we can make sense of what’s going on, shall we?

I’m Tom Colohue and these are your Wrestling Rumor Reactions.

Jon Moxley to Impact

If you’re a Jon Moxley fan, or even a Dean Ambrose fan (same actor, completely different characters), you’ve probably had a very good week after the release of a much hyped promotional video and what is only the fourth tweet that has been sent by Ambrose since his debut under the moniker.

While speculation abounds, as ever it does, Joseph Peisich of the Barnburner Radio Network is a little more confident, stating that while most of the discussion is based around a move to All Elite Wrestling, Impact Wrestling are also in the mix.

Would an Impact run for Moxley be of interest?

Lesnar returning sooner rather than later

Brock Lesnar has had varying degrees of popularity during his two runs in WWE. Having seemingly “retired” from UFC – per Dana White’s own words – and after having opened The Show of Shows, there is some who believe a retirement from wrestling might also be in Lesnar’s future.

This is disputed by Brad Shepard, who is reporting that “Brock is expected to return sooner rather than later.”

Lio Rush speaks out

It’s been a busy week or so for Lio Rush.

While there has been no sign from WWE that Rush’s job is at risk in any way, stories of backstage issues and encounters continue to emerge. PWInsider are keeping updates going.

In response, Rush sent out the following tweet:

True to his word, Lio Rush has since answered many questions and given a full and frank interview to Fightful where he explains things from his side.

This is a bold move that is not going to get him much respect backstage. In fact, a lot of mainstream wrestling talent have since been openly lacking in support for him. This includes Chris Jericho and Mark Henry.

In comments to Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio, Henry stated the following about Lio Rush:

“If you’re walking around and you can not pay for a rental car, you can’t pay for a hotel with the money that you make every week, then you need to change the way you’re spending.”

“He’s getting off very easily because in my day they would have said hey Lio, Bobby should never drive, you should take his bags to the car. When he comes back from his match you should have a bottle of water there for him when he walks back through the curtain.”

Goldberg to WWE instead of AEW

Let’s talk about Goldberg in Saudi Arabia shall we?

By now we hopefully all know that Goldberg has been officially announced by the WWE as in attendance for the upcoming show in Saudi Arabia. The Wrestling Observer are reporting that WWE reached out to Goldberg and offered him a deal on the basis that they suspected a deal with AEW was near.

”…the Bill Goldberg deal is to sign him to a deal which they wouldn’t have done, except they feared that he would go to AEW and they wanted to make sure that there was no mainstream guy that they can add to that roster.”

There is of course a strong debate ongoing as to what degree of threat that All Elite Wrestling can pose to WWE. If this is true it’s a very clear indication that WWE are trying to actively prevent that threat from growing.

Tyler Breeze to NXT

Sticking with the Wrestling Observer for a moment, they are also reporting that Tyler Breeze is now officially back on the NXT roster.

For someone who was getting no air time on Monday Night Raw, this could be a very good move for him as it puts him back into at least some spotlight and allows him to show his talents and prove himself all over again.

That said, with the wealth of talent already in NXT and only an hour a week in which to showcase them, NXT is starting to look mighty full, isn’t it?

Goldberg is the next WWE Champion

And just one final note to be added on at the end here. Sometimes, the genesis of wrestling rumors can be truly hilarious. A wrestling news account notorious for the spread of incorrect information or correct information with no evidence of anything beyond a guess has a parody account in which their news is made even more ludicrous.

This parody account recently announced that Goldberg would be returning to Saudi Arabia to take the WWE Championship from Kofi Kingston and walk it straight into a new feud with Brock Lesnar.

Nobody else is reporting this. There is no evidence whatsoever that this is going to happen.

Don’t believe everything you read.
