On the heels of her impressive victory at WrestleMania, can Becky Lynch defeat 2 game challengers for her WWE Women’s Championships at Money In The Bank?

At Money In The Bank, Becky Lynch is set to face off in 2 WWE Women’s Championship matches in the first defenses of her newly won titles.

For the Raw Women’s Championship, Lynch will be defending against the up-and-coming Lacey Evans. Considering she has yet to have a truly major singles match on the main roster, Money In The Bank will be one of the first true tests of Evans.

On the other side, Charlotte Flair will challenge Becky Lynch once again, this time for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Flair and Lynch have squared off in numerous matches over the past years, making this feel like someone of an odd choice in challenger for Lynch given the overwhelming amount of worthy new opponents who could have been in this role.

Nevertheless, both Flair and Evans will prove major threats to Lynch’s ability to call herself ‘Becky 2 Belts’.

After a rocky start on the main roster, Evans is one of the fastest rising stars on Raw. She’s already shown off considerable mic skills, and a great ability to sell a rivalry. In her limited physical action thus far, she’s even been able to show some of her potential as a quality in-ring star as well.

Given that combination of skill and potential, it’s not out of the realm of possibility that WWE decides to put a title on Evans.

However, taking into account her lack of real experience on the main roster thus far, along with the incredible popularity of Becky Lynch at the moment, it would honestly be hard to make the case that this is the best time to pull the trigger on a title run.

With that in mind, I think it would be fairly safe to say that the Raw Women’s Championship will stay in the hands of Becky Lynch.

Charlotte Flair’s challenge, however, is a completely different story.

Flair is about as proven of a commodity as you can find in WWE today. She’s one of the most decorated women in the company’s history already, and could easily add another accolade to her ever-growing list of achievements at Money In The Bank.

Still, I can’t help but wonder why she’s in this match though. Flair and Lynch have fought in more than enough matches over the past year. You could probably even say Becky Lynch versus Charlotte Flair was the rivalry of the year in 2018 for WWE.

There’s really not much more for either of them to do or say in a rivalry. They badly need some time apart from one another if WWE wants them to have a truly fresh feud again.

In light of that, it’s hard not to wonder if there’s an alternative reason for why Flair is getting this match. I mean it could easily just be an excuse to give Lynch a win no one would question in one of her first title defenses. On the other hand, it could be something far more.

While I would likely rule out Flair coming away with a win herself in their match, given that there really hasn’t been a build that would make it seem like Flair has any more of a chance at beating Lynch than she had in any of their other matches, I still think there’s a fair chance that Lynch may be in danger of losing the SmackDown Women’s Championship in their bout.

That’s simply because at Money In The Bank, we will also naturally see a new Money In The Bank briefcase holder in the women’s division.

I’ll admit that cash-ins at the actual Money In The Bank itself are somewhat rare, but they are far from unprecedented. In fact, it was only a few years ago that Dean Ambrose cashed in his briefcase at the event.

Taking into consideration the somewhat questionable nature of Flair’s title opportunity, I wonder if WWE could be setting up for another quick cash-in of a similar nature at this year’s Money In The Bank.

We already know Lynch and Flair can push each other to the limit. With Lynch potentially coming off the heels of a stiff challenge from Lacey Evans, you could almost bet on a potentially exhausted Lynch having to pull out just enough strength to finish off Flair as one of the more likely booking scenarios.

In turn, that would leave the door wide open then for the potential Money In The Bank contract holder to get a relatively easy cash-in that splits up the women’s titles once again. With multiple high-profile former champions like Alexa Bliss and Bayley in the Money In The Bank ladder match itself, it would be pretty easy to envision a new SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Having a unified champion is still something WWE rarely allows for long, even if they are as insanely popular as Becky Lynch is. Seth Rollins was really the last major dual champion, holding both the United States and WWE World Heavyweight Championships during his amazing heel run, yet that barely lasted a month.

As such, it’s hard not to wonder how long WWE will keep the titles on Becky Lynch.

In spite of any evidence to the contrary though, I still personally see Lynch walking out of Money In The Bank with both belts. I just can’t see WWE having Lynch lose so quickly after her headlining WrestleMania win, even if a Money In The Bank cash-in may be one of the more likely ways her dual title reign ends at some point in the future.

In my opinion then, it will still be safe to call ‘The Man’ by her new nickname ‘Becky 2 Belts’ after Money In The Bank.
