AEW: Three current WWE wrestlers that should jump ship to AEW
By Jason Reed
2. EC3
Unlike Shinsuke Nakamura, Ethan Carter III has had literally nothing positive about the way he has been booked since he was called up to the main roster in February of this year. To be fair, WWE still has time to utilize EC3 and his abilities, but it does not appear that the company is primed to do so.
Creative has booked EC3 so terribly that anyone that is not familiar with NXT or his work away from WWE probably would forget who he even is. Aside from being the occasional jobber, Carter has had no significant storyline or even any moments on the main roster.
It really is a shame because EC3 was so good away from WWE, particularly in Impact Wrestling and was one of the most exciting prospects in his time with NXT. WWE really could do something special and blur the lines of reality with fellow former Impact superstars, such as Drew McIntyre.
But instead, he is an afterthought, likely because of McMahon’s weird hesitance to book certain indy guys despite there being so many examples of success. It really is strange that McMahon does not have a bigger liking of EC3 as well, considering he is the frame that McMahon looks for in WWE Superstars.
It has been clear in EC3’s career and his two stints with the WWE that he does his best work away from the organization. That is why whenever his contract expires, which might not be for some time, he should once again be successful elsewhere.
