2. Drew McIntyre

It wasn’t long ago that Drew McIntyre felt like a bonafide top heel on Monday nights capable of capturing the Universal Championship at some point.  However, over the past few weeks, he has been demoted to being the heavy of a 50-year-old authority figure who may or may not be the best in the world.

Shane McMahon has been running roughshod since his heel turn at Fastlane earlier this year, labeling himself as the Best in the World and causing problems for many Superstars, Roman Reigns included.  After Shane managed to technically defeat The Miz at two straight pay-per-views, he moved on to The Big Dog, who he defeated at Super ShowDown thanks to the help of The Scottish Psychopath.

Even though Reigns still has major issues with Shane O’Mac, his issues with McIntyre are alive and well at the same time.  At Stomping Grounds, McIntyre will get another shot at Reigns after Reigns got the win at WrestleMania 35.  McIntyre’s heel presence has been diminished lately after being demoted to being a lackey. He needs a big win over a top WWE Superstar to prove he’s not an afterthought.

Although Reigns did just lose to Shane at Super ShowDown thanks to McIntyre’s interference, he still feels like he’s in a better position than McIntyre.  McIntyre could use a win here more than Reigns could. A win on a pay-per-view platform over The Big Dog could do wonders for The Scottish Psychopath.  It could also help elevate him into the Universal Championship picture after Seth Rollins and Baron Corbin finish up.

It’s time to start treating McIntyre like the elite heel that he is and the best way to start would be with a win over Reigns at Stomping Grounds.
