When creating subjective rankings of ANYTHING, someone will always find fault in how you arrive at your list. I think “Jaws” is a better movie than “The Shawshank Redemption,” come at me.
So in ranking the top active WWE Superstars, I think you should all know that I value the total package over one singular aspect. A stud in the ring with the mic skills of a dead fish might not be slotted as high as someone who is merely above average technically, but spins a colorful yarn.
I also prefer consistency, so my number one absolutely MUST be Daniel Bryan. Great in the ring, great on the mic, and he’s been doing it for nearly two decades (even if only one has been spent in WWE). A very close second is AJ Styles, who checks all the same boxes as Bryan, but just a hair behind on each.
At number three would be Seth Rollins, who is presently the victim of pitiful booking that causes many to knock his overall ability. But looking at his post-Shield world title run, you can see all the good he’s capable of, and that still shines through today.
Number four would be Becky Lynch, who has taken the mantle of “greatest Horsewoman” of late. Charlotte Flair may be better in the ring, Sasha Banks may be The Boss, and Bayley may be the fan favorite, but Becky is less a character and more a REAL entity. Her mic skills are also head and shoulders above the others, which balances out any perceived in-ring deficiencies (which aren’t really there anyway).
At number five, it’s tough to go with anyone other than Samoa Joe. Everything that man does is pure gold, but he often is overlooked because of the lack of flash. Give me a Samoa Joe match any day of the week, though.
