Getting to know Will Allday before Impact Wrestling Deep Impact on Twitch
Patches Chance: All Elite Wrestling is the hot topic right now, but what do you think their success can mean for the wrestling industry as a whole?
Will Allday: I think a huge thing with them is they are making their wrestlers employees instead of independent contractors. So that means you get these full benefits, and you don’t have to take care of yourself as your own business because now you’re working for a business and you have someone actually taking care of you and your health and all that comes with it. And I think that is very important, and I think that’s gonna help change WWE into taking a lot better care of their superstars.
Which, I mean, I think they get a bad rap. Everybody has to evolve, so WWE has constantly been evolving and constantly trying to do better by their past superstars or performers. They’re not just saying ‘f*ck em’ and throwing them to the wolves. They’ve gotta do what’s best for them as a company, obviously, but they’re obviously trying to change things and trying to make it better as the years go on.
They’ve just gotta go through these trials and tribulations to see what’s the best path for them. And I think they’re getting there. I think All Elite Wrestling is going to help them get there quicker, because they’re run by people who know how to run sports teams. And that’s essentially what they’re looking at their employees as, part of their sports team. And so, I think that’s a huge huge deal for wrestlers and like wrestlers taking care of their future.

As far as opportunities go, now there’s another global platform for people to make a name. You don’t have to go to WWE to make a living anymore. They can go to All Elite and you can build your name there. And then you go to the indies from All Elite, or you can go to WWE from All Elite, or you can go to New Japan from All Elite. Now you can build your name in multiple platforms instead of one. And I think that’s really cool because I think just more opportunities for the wrestlers now is gonna make wrestling as a whole more successful.
Patches Chance: If you could wrestle anyone in wrestling history, even if they’re not a current competitor, who would you choose?
Will Allday: Cena. I would choose John Cena right now because I think he could have a good match with anybody. I think he draws—I think just being across the ring from John Cena, no matter who you are, makes it like the biggest match in the world. I probably think he’s just the greatest of all time, because I don’t think anybody can touch him in promos. I think he’s the best of all time at promos.
I think he can have good matches with anybody. He dragged WWE for what, 15 years on his back when they didn’t really have the hottest show or competition to bring the best out of them? I think right now, at this point, that could make anybody. Anybody in the world coming up and having a match with John Cena would become a name just by standing across the ring with him.
Patches Chance: Where do you think we will see Will Allday in five years?
Will Allday: WWE. I have the confidence to say that 100%. WWE. And that doesn’t mean that there’s not gonna be a stop at Impact, or a stop in Japan, or a stop at AEW, but ever since I was young, my goal has been one thing, and that’s to get to WrestleMania. That’s to wrestle for WWE, and that hasn’t changed.
Patches Chance: Aside from Deep Impact, what big events or matches do you have coming up that fans should keep an eye out for?
Will Allday: Yeah, I’ll be back at WrestleCircus on July 28th. I’m wrestling at a huge show in Dallas on July 5th the night before Deep Impact for VIP Wrestling. You can catch me at WrestleCircus, Inspire Pro Wrestling. I’m gonna get over to Championship Wrestling From Hollywood too. And yeah, Deep Impact for Impact and Reality of Wrestling’s joint show.
Patches Chance: Where can fans find you on social media or find your merch?
Will Allday: They can find me @IAmMrAllDay on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook. They can hit me up for merch right now through any of my social media sites or at an event that I’m at. I’m in the process of getting a website up to get my merch up on there, but as of right now just hit me up on social media and I can get you some merch.
