Daily DDT: How has life been for you over in Hawaii?

Ross Von Erich: It’s a great place to call home and come back to, get yourself together and collected, for sure.

Marshall Von Erich: As you could imagine, Hawaii is great, the weather is awesome, we’re so happy and blessed to be here.

Ross: We moved here in July of 2007. We’re pushing past the 10, 11 year mark now.

Marshall: We originally moved here from Texas. After we lived here for about five or six years, we went through a weird in-between phrase where we didn’t really fit into Texas or Hawaii, and so, we’re finally settling in now after almost 12 years (laughs).

DDT: You guys signed with MLW only just recently. In addition to being home as well as with your dad more often, what went into your decision to sign with MLW?

Ross: We saw it as a huge opportunity. They have a TV deal and all that, but it wasn’t just that. We saw who they had on the roster, great guys like [Brian] Pillman [Jr.] and so many others. Low Ki, The CONTRA Unit, so many talented guys. We never try to underestimate our opponent because we know everybody is there for a reason.

They’re professional athletes. To be at MLW, that alone right there, they have our respect. The transition’s been awesome. Ever since we’ve been over there, we’ve been extremely happy and the fact they were willing to work with us living in Hawaii was just amazing. Family is important to us.
