WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Daniel Bryan & Rowan (c) vs. The New Day vs. Heavy Machinery

Our next bout of tag team action saw Rowan and “The New” Daniel Bryan defend the SmackDown Tag Team Titles against both The New Day and Heavy Machinery. This was going to be a car wreck, but in a very different way than the match before.

With six men all vying for the titles, the sheer numbers meant this one would get out of control. Daniel Bryan and Rowan began to isolate and wear down Xavier Woods early, making some good back and forth tags. Bryan made a point to keep an illegal hold on past the count of five, musing aloud that there were no disqualifications because of the triple threat stipulation.

Xavier Woods finally managed to escape the offense long enough to make a tag to Otis of Heavy Machinery. Otis then put his focus on Daniel Bryan hitting a big spinning slam before landing The Caterpillar.

Otis tagged in Tucker and they continued the offense, but things broke down not long after. Big E tagged himself in, only for Otis to lift him with a delayed suplex. Tucker came off the top rope with a cross body to drive Big E into the mat along with the suplex for a near fall.

The action spilled to the outside, where everyone had a big moment and looked for some momentum. Things finally got back into the ring where Otis and Tucker were able to plant Big E with The Compacter, but Xavier Woods broke up the pinfall.

After some more fast-paced action, Otis and Tucker hoisted Rowan onto the top rope. They went to go for a superplex, but Rowan stayed planted. Big E slid in and looked like they would all hit a tower of doom, but Rowan stayed in place, meaning Big E powerbombed Heavy Machinery into the mat.

Daniel Bryan tagged himself back in while Rowan was up there, quickly sliding back into the fray and getting the Lebell Lock on Big E moments later. Daniel Bryan looked ready to make him tap and get the win, but Big E managed to drag himself almost out of the ring to escape the hold.

Bryan followed it with stiff kicks to Big E, the same ones which were once known as YES kicks. Big E powered through them, rising to his feet unfazed and eating Bryan’s offense without budging. He suddenly burst forward with a clothesline that turned Bryan inside out.

Bryan got to his feet and tried to run towards the corner and backflip away from danger, but Big E caught him. Big E moved him onto his shoulders, and Xavier Woods came off the top rope to hit The Midnight Hour to earn the pinfall and crown new champions!

Grade: A+, This match was so great. All six men looked fantastic. The action was almost hard to follow because so much was happening, but they put together a great match with so many fun moments. One of the best triple threat tags I’ve seen in some time.

After the match, we saw Big E and Xavier Woods celebrate backstage with WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. Then Paul Heyman suddenly burst past them and walked out onto the stage. He greeted the Philadelphia crowd, which certainly loved Heyman, and delivered a “spoiler” that Brock Lesnar would be cashing in on someone tonight.

However, Paul Heyman followed it up with a few final words that drew his “spoiler” into question. “Am I telling the truth? Or am I Paul Heyman?”
