WWE SummerSlam: 5 possible opponents for Brock Lesnar
Roman Reigns
As of this writing, WWE announced that tonight on Raw, 10 men will compete in a Battle Royal that will be used to determine the number one contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship for a match at SummerSlam.
One of the participants in the match is none other than Roman Reigns, who actually won a match last night alongside the aforementioned Undertaker. The match seemed to put one final nail in the coffin for his ongoing – practically never ending – feud against Shane McMahon. There is a chance that after all of this time, Reigns could move on by feuding with Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title, a title Reigns never lost prior to vacating it due to a real leukemia diagnosis last year.
Like the aforementioned Undertaker, Reigns has a long and storied history with Brock Lesnar that WWE could easily revisit at any time. Brock first defeated Reigns one-on-one at WrestleMania 34. Months later, Reigns got his win back over The Beast at last year’s SummerSlam PPV. For this year’s SummerSlam, it might be time for all of us to finally see a tie-breaker.
Most fans might not be a fan of that direction – considering Brock’s last few matches with Reigns were poorly received – but you can’t deny that there’s a story there. Now, whether that story is worth revisiting is up to interpretation.
