WWE: 3 Superstars that need a win the most at SummerSlam 2019
2. Seth Rollins
WrestleMania 35 was a huge night for Seth Rollins en route to becoming the Universal Champion for the first time in his career by dethroning Brock Lesnar. However, the scenario heading into SummerSlam is quite similar to what it was heading into WrestleMania with Rollins once again vying to rid the WWE of Lesnar as Universal Champion.
The Architect had a stellar reign as Universal Champion until getting cashed in on by The Beast Incarnate at Extreme Rules. So, Rollins will once again be looking to be the Beast Slayer when he challenges Lesnar for the Universal Championship after winning a battle royal on Raw a few weeks ago to earn a shot at regaining the title he held proudly for months.
Lesnar has stacked the deck against Rollins in recent weeks capped off with a vicious attack on The Architect last week on Raw. Once again, The Beast Incarnate looks like an unstoppable force that can maul through every person in his way. But that kind of adversity is what drove Rollins in the first place to take out Lesnar, so that could lead to good things at the biggest party of the summer.
Rollins needs to win the Universal Championship back at SummerSlam. The seemingly trolling of the entire WWE universe by having Lesnar as Universal Champion has to come to an end at some point and Vince McMahon needs to realize that. It would make the Money in the Bank briefcase feel a bit wasted given how Lesnar won it in the first place and given how his title reign was so short, but it’s a necessary move to make.
Lightning needs to strike twice for The Architect at SummerSlam in his quest to dethrone The Beast Incarnate for the second time in a matter of a few months.
