WWE: Kevin Owens’s new shirt is a stunner
Kevin Owens is one of the top babyfaces in WWE right now, and his new T-Shirt has yet another nod to Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Sadly, Shane McMahon hasn’t finished annoying us with his presence on WWE programming, and he even had the audacity to fine Kevin Owens a whopping $100,000 for putting his hands on “referee” Elias, who went on to screw KO over in a match against Samoa Joe on the episode of SmackDown after SummerSlam.
So if you want to help Owens pay that $100,000 fine, then you’d better buy his new T-Shirt. He has a family to feed, people! And by my calculations, you’d have to buy *punches numbers into calculator blindly* 250,000 shirts for Owens to make that money back in royalties. So get to it!
But honestly, it’s a decent shirt, if not on the safe side. Owens does a “Stunner” as a tip of the cap to another “everyman” babyface in Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he’s been using the Stunner since Royal Rumble 2017 against Roman Reigns in a Universal Title match. But now, it’s actually a finish in his matches and used more prominently, since, you know, we have to establish he’s a bad-ass babyface with the finish.
Stun Owens Stun.
That’s the shirt.
It’s a play off of Fight Owens Fight on his other merch, which was a play off of the original Kill Steen Kill when he was Kevin Steen on the independent scene. But since we can’t have WWE urging a wrestler to kill others (unless if you try to run over Roman Reigns, use a forklift, end Braun Strowman etc.), we’ll have to settle for “Stun”.
It’s a solid enough shirt, and the “Kill Steen Kill” callback with the Stone Cold twist is a nice touch. Sometimes I wonder if WWE could go a little louder or be more creative with designing shirts for their top stars, but with a guy like Owens, keeping it simple is best.
After all, Owens is a simple man. He loves his family, he loves kicking ass, and he hates dictators like the McMahons.
