The New Day (c) vs. The Revival (SmackDown Tag Team Championships)

Since dethroning Daniel Bryan and Rowan at WWE Extreme Rules, The New Day has not defended their SmackDown Tag Team Championships on live television. This is partially to blame for SmackDown’s severely depleted tag team division.

Thanks to the wild card rule, former Raw Tag Team Champions The Revival arrived on SmackDown last week to challenge The New Day.

A six-man tag team match then ensued between The New Day and Randy Orton and The Revival, in which Orton and The Revival picked up a big win.

This win indicated a future tag team championship opportunity for The Revival. It should be noted that The Revival “has The New Day’s number” because The New Day has never defeated The Revival .

Considering that The Revival is a Raw tag team, they are not going to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

Consequently, The New Day will defeat Revival for the very first time at Clash of Champions to retain their SmackDown Tag Team Championships, and resume their reigns with new challengers in the months to come.

Prediction: The New Day

The OC (c) vs. Viking Raiders (Raw Tag Team Championships)

While the OC was busy winning the Raw Tag Team Championships and helping AJ Styles retain his United States Championship against Ricochet for the past month, the Viking Raiders have been defeating tag teams every single week on Monday Night Raw since getting called up from NXT.

Their incredible winning streak must warrant a tag team championship opportunity sooner rather than later.

Since both of these teams seem to be heel, the babyface Usos might be included in this potential tag team championship match to maintain the babyface-heel dynamics. However, it’s very rare to see heel-heel matches these days, and it would be interesting to just run with this match, as-is.

If this match were to occur, it would be a great opportunity for the Viking Raiders to showcase their skills with high stakes, and recognize their limitations against one of the best tag teams in the WWE today.

The OC should not lose their tag team championships yet, and need to utilize their champions’ advantage if this bout were to occur.

On the other hand, the Viking Raiders should not lose the match. As a result, this match needs to end inconclusively with a DQ or count-out finish so that both teams can continue looking strong and extend their feud into the Hell in a Cell, a PPV where there is usually no DQ or count-out.

Prediction: Viking Raiders (by DQ or count-out)
