WWE SmackDown predictions: Long live The Big Dog
By Mark Justice
4. Ali Defeats Buddy Murphy
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2019, Ali was supposed to be in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match; however, thanks to Randy Orton in storyline, he was unable to compete due to injury and was replaced by current WWE Champion Kofi Kingston.
At WWE MITB 2019, Ali had his palms on the MITB briefcase, but he was screwed by former Universal Champion Brock Lesnar who entered the ladder match at the last minute to become Mr. MITB.
On SmackDown Live, Ali pinned the current Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura; this victory should have guaranteed Ali a future title shot, but he never received that well deserved title shot.
As can be evidenced, it seems that Ali does not even have to drive his CO2-emitting SUV to a bank to get robbed. No matter what path he rode along, his SUV collided with another vehicle. However, his SUV did not get into these car accidents because of mediocre driving.
In other words, the worthy and deserving Ali did not lose his opportunities due to lack of talent. He lost his opportunities due to unfortunate circumstances.
With that being said, the King of the Ring Tournament could very well be Ali’s opportunity to right the wrongs that have been done to him for the past 6 months.
Although Buddy Murphy has been gaining momentum with his involvement in the Roman Reigns murder storyline as well as his victory over Daniel Bryan last week on SmackDown Live, Ali needs this win more to redeem himself and follow through with his promise of being the one to wear the crown.
Besides, a babyface superstar needs to face the heel Elias in the next round of the King of the Ring Tournament.
Due to the various damages it has sustained, the SUV’s transmission will only remain intact if Ali saves 15% or more with car insurance by switching to Geico. Since that’s probably not going to happen, Ali needs to dig down deep into his heart and trace the path he travels with his own blood rather than with his SUV’s road tracks.
By doing that, he will be more than capable of defeating his fellow 205 Live alumnus this week and then ‘walking’ with Elias next week.
