4. Ali Defeats Elias

While the heel Elias nefariously defeated his rival, Kevin Owens, with special guest referee assistance from Shane McMahon two weeks ago to advance in the King of the Ring Tournament, the babyface Ali defeated his fellow 205 Live alumni, Buddy Murphy, fair and square in a show-stealing match last week to advance as well. Now that Ali is no longer ‘driving’ his CO2-emitting SUV, he is free to sustainably ‘walk’ with Elias.

Elias may be bigger and stronger than Ali, but Ali has more heart and endurance. He is a beloved babyface who gives his fans hope that any of them can succeed, no matter their size, shape, gender, and/or skin color.

He inspires his fans to believe in themselves as much as they believe in him, and these are the types of babyfaces the WWE needs in today’s day and age. From the very beginning, Ali knew that he was the dark horse in this tournament but he truly believed in himself and gave his fans hope that he would not be robbed of his opportunity again.

As for Elias, he is too distracted with winning the 24/7 Championship to become King of the Ring, and Kevin Owens could always screw him out of the King of the Ring Tournament to get more revenge from two weeks ago. Therefore, Ali should be a safe bet to defeat Elias and advance to the SmackDown Finals of the King of the Ring Tournament.

3. Andrade Defeats Chad Gable

While the heel Andrade nefariously defeated his rival, Apollo Crews, with special managerial assistance from Zelina Vega at ringside two weeks ago to advance in the King of the Ring Tournament, the babyface Chad Gable defeated his former tag team partner, Shelton Benjamin, fair and square in a show-stealing match last week to advance as well.

Similar to Ali, Gable has an underdog mentality. Since Andrade is an international athlete and tends to have a wrestling style mismatch with most of the wrestlers on the roster, Gable believes that he would be distinctively more ready for Andrade than anyone else on the roster due to his experiences wrestling international athletes in the Olympics.

However, Andrade’s manager, Zelina Vega, feels that she knows everything about underdog mentality. She feels that she can effortlessly get into the mind of Gable and aid Andrade to victory. Both superstars make compelling arguments as to why they should advance to the next round of the King of the Ring Tournament.

Nonetheless, Andrade has been booked stronger than Gable since joining the main roster and he should be the safe bet to defeat Gable and advance to the SmackDown finals of the King of the Ring Tournament against Ali.
