WWE: 4 Superstars that should be drafted to a new brand
Drew McIntyre – From RAW to SmackDown
Stop me if you have heard this one before “Drew McIntyre should be World Champion by ____.”
Should Drew McIntyre be a World Champion? There doesn’t appear to be much missing in his arsenal. Has Drew McIntyre been portrayed as someone who should be a World Champion on RAW? No.
His feud with Cedric Alexander was confusing. That is no knock on either talent. McIntyre has the gifts and Alexander has top player written all over him. That is where the feud fell apart. It helped advance neither career. Alexanders upward trajectory was halted by McIntyre squashing him on RAW. The challenge was that one week Alexander would be squashed by the “monster heel” McIntyre. Then week after McIntyre would look like Alexander was his equal in the ring.
Career wise, McIntyre was at his hottest while feuding with Roman Reigns leading to WrestleMania 35. McIntyre should have won at WrestleMania. Reigns’ career is solid enough to the point where he didn’t gain anything by defeated McIntyre.
A move to SmackDown will help recharge a career that should be legendary. It has yet to be given an opportunity to fulfill that potential.
Fans love Kofi Kingston, but Kingston isn’t going to hold the WWE Championship forever. There is a way to launch Drew McIntyre as a top heel. Have his crowning moment be the guy that defeats Kofi Kingston.
