2. Bayley

It’s no secret that the WWE has had difficulties, at times, trying to recapture the magic that was Bayley’s NXT run in years past.  But with the recent events of the past week, Bayley has more traction now than she has in quite some time on the main roster, despite being the SmackDown Women’s Championship for a few months now.

Bayley has been a bit of an afterthought on-screen, and in kayfabe sense lately, and the WWE decided to use that to its advantage in sync with the return and heel turn of Sasha Banks.

A backstage interview asked Bayley if she had been in contact with Banks following her shocking actions since her return, and Bayley maintained the fact that she and The Boss are still friends.

That friendship would be tested in last week’s Raw main event.

Bayley and Becky Lynch defeated Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross, but the real fireworks took place after the match when Banks attacked Lynch with a steel chair.  Bayley intervened and got involved, but not like most would have imagined, when she hit Lynch with the chair and turned heel in the process.

Bayley’s intentions are clear now, but her SmackDown Women’s Championship will be on the line at Clash of Champions.

Charlotte Flair will challenge Bayley for her title, but after last week on SmackDown, it looks like The Queen could be the babyface in this match after getting attacked by Banks and Bayley.

Regardless of those semantics, Bayley needs to retain her title in the worst way here. She has finally turned heel after so long, and now has as much momentum as she has had in a long time, so that can’t go to waste in her first major match since turning heel.

The Queen’s 10th women’s championship reign should have to wait for another day because it’s Bayley’s turn to see what she can do as a heel aligned with The Boss.
