2. Elevate your under-pushed talent

One thing that should be squashed from the get go is this. You should not have to bring back any talent who have been stars in the past. Performers such as Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Asuka and Kairi Sane have already proven to be dominant forces in the NXT promotion.  They should not be brought back just for a ratings grab. It’s on the creative teams of the main roster to properly showcase these underpushed performers. Why not continue to build on your deep and under utilized roster?

While NXT already boasts a star-studded top of the card, don’t think for a second there aren’t any hidden gems waiting in the wings. As a matter of fact, one could argue that Triple H went out and signed an embarrassment of riches from the independent scene. This wide array of performers are just waiting to climb to the top of the NXT mountain.

With 2 hours of television each week to fill, the formula should be easy to launch. A rotation of fresh matches and talent each week should be the most simplistic maneuver that the NXT brand can execute. You don’t need to see Velveteen Dream each week in the ring. Especially if you have guys like Keith Lee, Dominik Dijakovic, Damien Priest, KUSHIDA and Jordan Myles who have yet to be featured on an NXT Takeover. Much less syndicated television.

Let’s not forget about the women and tag teams who are good enough to bust through a glass ceiling if called upon. While Candice LeRae has been shown on the WWE Network, she has mainly been shown as ‘Johnny Gargano’s wife’. Not as the amazing performer she has shown to be. Just watch the Takeover contest with Io Shirai and tell me that she can’t be the NXT Women’s champion one day.

You also possess females such as Xia Li, Rhea Ripley and a returning Dakota Kai who are capable of becoming top contenders to the NXT women’s title. The tag team division is a little down from what it used to be and The Undisputed Era needs new dance partners in the tag team division to square off with. Former NXT tag team champions The Street Profits, the teams of Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch and Breezango are talented enough to draw viewers to the screens every Wednesday.

All of these performers plus many others are capable of a moment in the spotlight. NXT has the ability to choose who they showcase each week  Let the crowds at Full Sail, Takeover events and the talent itself determine who should be showcased next.
