WWE NXT: Which championship will Undisputed Era lose first?
With The Undisputed Era becoming draped in gold after a win by Roderick Strong on WWE NXT this week, who will be the first to lose their championship?
The prophecy of The Undisputed Era being draped in gold was fulfilled this week on WWE NXT when Roderick Strong captured the NXT North American Championship from The Velveteen Dream. It was a crowning moment for Strong, who hadn’t yet captured singles gold since joining the company in 2016.
Unfortunately, this prophecy has an expiration date. As much as some may hope to believe that The Undisputed Era will never lose any of their championships, the reality is that it’s just a matter of time. Someone will lose, and the prophecy will come to an end.

The group holds three separate championships between the four of them, the NXT Title, NXT North American Title, and NXT Tag Team Titles. Let’s begin with the least likely, which would be the newest champion the group has.
NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong has only just begun to taste gold, and it’s unlikely the title would be taken right off of him soon after he won it. Unfortunately for his stablemates, that puts them firmly in the crosshairs and leaves us with two potential options.
Who loses their championship first? Will it be Adam Cole or Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly? If we continue the theme of probability, that points to NXT Champion Adam Cole. He won the title from Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: XXV, and has successfully defended it against Johnny Gargano, Akira Tozawa, and Jordan Myles.
With WWE NXT’s move to USA, there will be no shortage of names gunning for Cole and the spotlight that would come to be NXT Champion right now. His most immediate competition will either be Killian Dain or Matt Riddle.
After those two men couldn’t settle things this week on WWE NXT, William Regal pushed their match to next week and declared that the winner would get a shot at Adam Cole for the NXT Championship. Either man would be a threat to Cole, and both have the potential to dethrone him.
On the other side of the coin, we have NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish. They captured the gold by dethroning Street Profits just last month. We actually saw Street Profits this week on NXT, and they’ve said they intend to recapture the titles they lost.
When that potential rematch actually takes place is still unknown, but Street Profits seem poised to take down Fish and O’Reilly at any moment. However, one more win by Undisputed Era over Street Profits would seemingly knock them away as potential contenders. With their nearest competition being The Forgotten Sons, Fish and O’Reilly aren’t going anywhere soon.
And thus, as the numbers seemed to indicate, I do believe Adam Cole will be the man whose loss ends the prophecy of The Undisputed Era being draped in gold. Whether it’s Matt Riddle or Killian Dain, the winner of that match will be taking the NXT Championship from Adam Cole.
I do love having Adam Cole as NXT Champion, so I hope that I’m wrong, but only time will tell. One thing is certain: we’ve gotta tune into NXT on USA to find out.
