WWE fans thought Bayley cut her best promo ever
Last week, the WWE Universe went wild when Bayley won the SmackDown Women’s Championship back from Charlotte Flair and cemented her heel turn with a moody character who turned on the “Bayley Buddies”.
Since winning the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time in her career at the Money in the Bank Pay-Per-View after chasing in the briefcase on Charlotte Flair, Bayley has been operating at an MVP level in 2019. Her strong babyface run with the blue belt led to some of the best work of her career, which is saying something since she had an incredible run in NXT.
Bayley lost the title to Charlotte Flair at Hell in a Cell, as this was something of a revenge win for Flair; Bayley cheated to retain the championship in their first battle at Clash of Champions. But Bayley took the title back on the WWE Draft episode of SmackDown last week, cementing her heel turn in the process with a new hairstyle and a new hatred for the inflatable tubes.
This week, Bayley and her best friend Sasha Banks appeared on Miz TV and stole the show. Bayley’s promo, in particular, received the most praise, and fans around the Twitterverse were quick to praise it as the best promo of her career.
It’s safe to say that fans are very much #here for heel Bayley and how she explores this exciting version of her character.
The Vince McMahon reference alone was golden.
What amazing delivery from Bayley. She has already gotten into the character, and it’s perfect.
There have been worries that the sports-centric focus on SmackDown from FOX could lead to lower-quality promos, but that clearly hasn’t been the case tonight. And Bayley’s promo is the best example of it.
A great point was made here. Bayley has transitioned into this heel character so seamlessly that you have to think she’s been mulling all the aspects of the character for quite some time. We’re in for a really special run.
And of course, the Vince reference popped us all.
Bayley is continuing the prestige of the SmackDown Women’s Championship, somehow elevating her game in just a span of a few months due to this character. She could really help take SmackDown to the next level soon, despite a few flaws in the early going from the FOX switch.
