AEW Tag Team Division Power Rankings

HM: Best Friends (2-3-0) [Last Week: Honorable Mention] and Private Party (2-2-0) [Last Week: 4]

This week’s honorable mention tag teams are Best Friends and Private Party, who have both had some hard-fought losses. Private Party were toppled by Lucha Brothers and ejected from the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament. Best Friends looked to rebound after being eliminated by SCU but came up short against The Young Bucks. They still feel relevant, but just haven’t had the wins to get them into the rankings.

5. The Dark Order (2-1-0) [Last Week: 1]

In our biggest one week fall on these rankings so far, The Dark Order slips from the top spot to barely hanging on at fifth position. The Dark Order carried a lot of momentum by earning a bye in the AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament, putting them right in the semifinals as an undefeated duo. That finally changed this week, as Lucha Brothers defeated and eliminated The Dark Order, who are now unable to become the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions.

4. Santana & Ortiz (1-0-0) [Last Week: 5]

Despite only one in-ring outing, Santana and Ortiz have leveraged their position within The Inner Circle well enough to keep themselves relevant. They challenged The Young Bucks to a match at AEW Full Gear, which was accepted this week. The team that thrives to be “Proud ‘n’ Powerful” were strong in their brawl with Cody and company, but they’ll be looking forward now to AEW Full Gear.

3. The Young Bucks (3-2-0) [Last Week: Unranked]

After falling completely off the rankings due to an upset from Private Party and a week of absence, The Young Bucks surge all the way to the number three slot in our tag team rankings. This week, the bounced back in a huge way by defeating Best Friends in tag team action, and followed it by accepting an AEW Full Gear challenge by Santan and Ortiz. If they can keep this momentum going, The Young Bucks might have a title shot sooner rather than later.

2. SCU (2-2-0) [Last Week: 3]

Speaking of championships, our final two entries all hinge on exactly that. The AEW Tag Team Championship Tournament semifinals happened this week, and SCU secured an upset by toppling the undefeated duo of The Dark Order. Even with the less likely pairing of Scorpio Sky and Kazarian, they’ve really gelled and worked as a unit. SCU now head to the finals against Lucha Brothers and hope to be the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions.

1. Lucha Brothers (4-1-0) [Last Week: 2]

After failing to unseat The Dark Order at the top of our rankings in recent weeks, Lucha Brothers finally spring to the top thanks to that team being eliminated. On top of that, Lucha Brothers now have the most impressive record in the tag team division with four victories and only one single loss. They’ll now put their focus on SCU, who will challenge them next week to crown the inaugural AEW Tag Team Champions.
