Now that his feud with Rey Mysterio is likely over, who’s going to be the next challenger for Brock Lesnar and the WWE Championship.

In a result that shocked basically no one, Brock Lesnar retained the WWE Championship in his match against Rey Mysterio at Survivor Series.

Despite the lucha libre legend’s illustrious legacy, and a case that could be made for him defeating Lesnar, Mysterio wound up becoming just another challenger to add to the growing history of opponents “The Beast Incarnate” has dispatched with relative ease in world title competition.

With Mysterio out of the way though, now it’s time for a new face to try to take the WWE Title away from Lesnar.

Considering that it might not be until Royal Rumble that we see Lesnar defend his belt again, that gives WWE plenty of time to build up said challenger to look like a credible threat to “The Beast’s” reign.

Here are three superstars who WWE could easily position to fill that role in the coming weeks.

3. Ricochet

Although he admittedly doesn’t seem to be positioned for a WWE Championship match now, Ricochet would be one of the best superstars available to challenge Lesnar at Royal Rumble.

He checks a lot of boxes that other top names on the Raw roster simply can’t. Ricochet’s a fresh opponent that Lesnar has never faced, who also happens to be a rising star who could use a big match to solidify himself in the main event picture.

Additionally, the contrast in styles that Ricochet’s high-flying offense could provide is something that almost no one else in the entire company can offer for Lesnar.

I, for one, would certainly be intrigued by how WWE would handle such an extreme style disparity like that, especially considering how entertaining Lesnar has been against more agile competitors like Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles in the past.

In other words, Ricochet may not seem like the most obvious opponent for Lesnar, but he may be the most entertaining one available.
