AJ Styles (c) vs. Humberto Carillo [United States Championship]

Before Humberto Carillo could get in the ring for his championship match against AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacked Carillo from behind and delivered a Magic Killer to Carillo on the steel steps. While AJ Styles grabs a mic to make fun of Carillo, Ricochet runs in to check up on Carillo and challenges AJ Styles for the United States Championship. Styles makes fun of Ricochet by saying that he is no super hero since he didn’t make it out in time to save Carillo from such an attack. Besides, he doesn’t have a cape.

Like Ricochet, Randy Orton then comes out to challenge AJ Styles for the United States Championship. AJ Styles retorts that he does not have to prove anything to Ricochet and Orton since he already defeated them in the past so no title match is necessary.

Drew McIntyre then comes out to talk about his sexy accent, and his conquering of Braun Strowman and Walter last night at Survivor Series. He challenges AJ Styles to fight him for the first time, but Styles makes the excuse that he is a tad sore from last night.

Rey Mysterio comes out to call Styles on his excuses since he was also sore from his war against Lesnar last night at Survivor Series. Styles retorts that everyone is so needy and don’t deserve a championship match.

Ricochet then thinks of a bright idea that he, Orton, McIntyre, and Mysterio should battle in a fatal 4 way match to determine the number one contender for Styles’ United States Championship. Styles thinks that’s a dumb idea, but Gallows and Anderson felt it would be fitting for the hot Chicago crowd here tonight. Henceforth, Styles admits that it would be great to see these four beat the living hell out of each other before he takes the scraps later tonight.

Result: No Contest

Analysis: Honestly, it’s hard to be completely mad at this. Styles has already defeated Carillo and no one believed that Carillo would actually dethrone Styles when considering how fluky he has been booked lately. Now, there are four competitors more believable enough to dethrone Styles. It was a tad random, but should still be an exciting fatal 4 way to watch.
