Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin – Tables Match

This match has been months in the making and so has this rivalry. It all started during the summer as Ace Austin played mind games with Eddie Edwards as he constantly flirted with Eddie’s wife, Alisha Edwards.

Eddie’s paranoia and suspicion of his wife’s cheating nearly caused a rift in their marriage. It was not until last month that Alisha eventually saw behind Austin’s true colors and reconciled with her husband before the couple beat Austin down in a hotel lobby. How romantic.

In between that time, Austin won the X-Division Championship at October’s Bound for Glory PPV while Eddie Edwards won the Bound for Gold Battle Royal, granting him a future shot at any championship he wants.

Edwards opted not to cash in that shot tonight, so this Tables Match is a non-title bout, which also highlights why Edwards is likely to pick up the win. He lost his last encounter with Austin on Impact’s AXS Premiere in a Street Fight, so the best option is to let the babyface win to get his win back and finally wrap a bow on this storyline now that Eddie and Alisha are back together.
