WWE TLC 2019: 5 biggest takeaways from the PPV
The Miz is changed forever
The biggest talking points coming out of last night’s Miz vs. Bray Wyatt match has been all about the return of Daniel Bryan (and a clean shaven one at that), but let us not let the return of The American Dragon make us overlook The Miz’s performance during the match.
In the build up to TLC, WWE has been sure to mention the impact that The Fiend has had on his opponents since debuting at SummerSlam last August.
A match with The Fiend sent Finn Balor to NXT with a heel turn. A match with The Fiend turned Seth Rollins into a tyrant with a heel turn of his own. A match with The Fiend not only compelled Daniel Bryan to revive the Yes Movement, but the Universal Champion literally snatched him bald (shoutout to Naomi, wherever she may be).
Now, we can add The Miz to that list of changed men, as the match offered the most aggressive we have seen in the ring from The Miz ever in his 15 year career with WWE. Granted, it makes sense following the mind games Wyatt has played with Miz’s family, but Miz was far more aggressive than expected. Rather than go for a pin after hitting his finisher, Miz opted to inflict more punishment, which soon led to his own downfall and cost him the match.
Now, the question is just how aggressive will The Miz go to continue his feud with Wyatt? Is their feud over and, in turn, is The Miz’s character truly changed forever?
