John Cena

We have to start this list with a man who’s run in the WWE has been dominant ever since he first step foot into the new decade. AND HIS NAME IS JOHN CENA (*doot doo doo dooooooooooot*).

Sorry, where was I? Ah, yes, a decade of dominance from Big Match John kicked off in stellar fashion when he won his eighth World Championship in the company at WWE’s second Pay-Per-View event of the year, Elimination Chamber, then his ninth at WrestleMania 26.

Fast forward to nearly 10 years after the fact and Cena has deservingly tied Ric Flair’s record for 16 World Championships in his entire career. Speaking of, while it’s easy to praise Cena for his World Title wins, we must tip our hats to Cena for his 2015 United States Championship Open Challenge that was a highlight of 2010’s WWE television.

Cena served as WWE’s most valuable asset and top star throughout the better part of the decade.

In his place, the likes of Becky Lynch and the former Shield members filled in to take Cena’s spot and in many ways succeeded to carry WWE on their backs. However, no new star since has been able to carry as much pop cultural relevance to the entertainment world as a whole as much as Cena has.

What’s most impressive about Cena isn’t just how much he’s improved in the ring over time (adding surprising moves like the springboard Stunner to his arsenal over the years) or how many belts he’s won, but the fact that despite conquering Hollywood, he remains eager to come back to WWE whenever he has the time to entertain the same WWE Universe who made him a star to begin with.
